Why Getting Your Measurements Right Matters
A lehenga that fits perfectly transforms the way you look and feel. Whether you're renting a lehenga for a wedding, Navratri garba, or a sangeet night, the right measurements ensure you can dance freely, breathe comfortably, and look stunning throughout the event.
At Keshavi Garb, all our rental lehengas come with free expert alterations — but the closer your measurements are to the base size, the quicker and easier the alteration process.
What You Need
- A flexible measuring tape (soft cloth type, not metal)
- A helper (measuring yourself alone can cause inaccurate readings)
- Thin, form-fitting clothes (measure over innerwear, not bulky clothing)
- A notepad to write down your measurements
Step-by-Step: How to Measure for a Lehenga
1. Bust Measurement
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it parallel to the ground. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight — you should be able to breathe and slip a finger under it. Note this number in inches.
💡 Tip: Stand straight with arms relaxed at your sides when measuring your bust.
2. Waist Measurement
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist — typically 1–2 inches above your belly button. Keep the tape comfortably snug and exhale normally before taking the reading.
💡 Tip: The waist measurement is critical for choli fitting. Don't hold your breath in — your choli needs to fit comfortably as you breathe.
3. Hip Measurement
Stand with your feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks — usually about 8–9 inches below your waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
4. Height
Measure your height without footwear. This helps us determine the correct lehenga length so it falls gracefully without needing major hemming.
